Council Supports Patrol in Seribu Islands to Be Intensified

City Council Commission B supports Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. to re-intensified sea patrols in Seribu Islands.

Joint patrolling must be done intensively to monitor and save fishing area

Monitoring enhancement is conducted as an anticipation due to the rise of fish theft which recently happened. City Council Commission B Member, Prabowo Soenirman suggests Jakarta KPKP Dept. to cooperate with Water Police Directorate (Ditpolair) in patrolling.

"Joint patrolling must be done intensively to monitor and save fishing area," he said when contacted by Beritajakarta, Tuesday (5/23).

Sea Patrols in Seribu Islands will Be Reintensified

Similar thing was also expressed by Council Commission B Member, H. Syarifuddin. According to him, the theft problem is mostly using dangerous fishing gear while it has been anticipated through Jakarta KPKP Dept. rules. Since there are many unrecognized boats sailing around Seribu Islands.

"What we are worried about that the theft is not conducted by islands residents but the outsiders," he closed.
